One of the UK’s leading, independent packaging manufacturers, The Sherwood Group has made a major investment in a new foiling and embossing machine with the purchase of a new ETERNA EFOIL 1060 Elite.
The Group’s recent investment of £600,000 in new hot foil stamper was made in response to the significant growth of its packaging division and an increased demand for high-end packaging.
The new ETERNA machine will allow the printer to double its foiling capacity and deliver exceptional quality of finished products.
“The new machine will bring our foiling and embossing capabilities to a higher level in both quality and efficiency. It features 12 independent heating zones and the option of 4 dwell settings which will significantly improve quality of products with challenging foils and substrates. The machine has the advantage of a cross foil system which increases efficiency when foiling small areas, and a compactor for foil waste which helps with waste management.”
Martin King, the Group’s Operations Director
The new foiling machine will be fully operational by end of May 2022 at the Group’s BRCGS certified premises in Nottingham.
As part of a long-term strategic plan to offer unrivalled finishing capabilities for the packaging market, the Group has also made a £600,000 investment into a die-cutting and creasing machine. The new ECUT 1060 ELITE will complement Sherwood’s existing two die-cutting machines and greatly increase manufacturing capacity and efficiency.
The Sherwood Group will add the new die-cutter to its portfolio in August 2022.
