The Sherwood Group, a leading packaging manufacturer based in Nottingham, has announced the latest enhancement to its production capabilities with the installation of a new ETERNA ECUT 1060 Elite (APT), an automatic die-cutting machine at its head office. This investment is the latest part of a comprehensive 2.5-year investment programme in response to the company’s ongoing growth within the packaging division.
The ETERNA ECUT 1060 Elite (APT), recognised for its high speed, quality, and reliability, features a non-stop feeder system that allows continuous operation between pallets, delivering up to 7,000 sheets per hour. This cutting-edge technology not only enhances productivity but also reduces downtime, resulting in significant production improvements.
This latest investment follows the installation of Sherwood’s new foiling and embossing machine, ETERNA EFOIL 1060, and the addition of an ERGOSA C semi-automatic packer in 2022. The ECUT 1060 Elite (APT) complements Sherwood’s existing two die-cutting machines, further strengthening the company’s capability to meet increasing customer demand.
Martin King, Operations Director at Sherwood Group, commented:
We are excited to see the positive impact the ETERNA ECUT 1060 Elite (APT) will have on our production processes. Its non-stop feeder system allows for continuous operation without the need for machine stoppages between pallet changes, which we expect will lead to notable productivity improvements. This investment demonstrates our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of operational efficiency and responding to the growing demand for our packaging solutions
The Sherwood Group is also actively recruiting for its die-cutting and gluing team to support the growing business, ensuring the company continues to maintain its high standards of production and service.
